Morris Plains, NJ - Today Congress passed legislation that extended the National Flood Insurance Program. In reaction, Jay Webber released the following statement:

"I applaud the leaders in the House for coming together on this common-sense measure to extend the National Flood Insurance Program. Families who live in flood-prone areas in Essex, Morris, Passaic and Sussex counties are one step closer to having certainty and affordable coverage headed into this year's hurricane season. Reform and a longer extension of the program are needed, but this temporary extension is desperately needed.

"I thank and congratulate Congressman MacArthur for his leadership in this issue, and Congressman Frelinghuysen for all of his work on behalf of the flood-prone communities in the 11th.  Theirs is an example of bipartisan cooperation working to benefit New Jersey and the nation.  Now, the Senate and President Trump must carry this momentum forward and make this bill law."
